Acadia National Park Carriage Roads: Intersections 4 and 5

We took advantage of the weather this morning and traversed a few more miles (about 3) on the carriage roads. The continued lack of snow and the sunny and relatively warm temps (38 degrees) made for easy access to the 4 and 5 intersection markers. But, the chilling wind and our late start put some extra pep into our step, for sure. :)

I forgot to start RunKeeper, but we made a complete loop around Witch Hole Pond, so it's easy to see that we started and stopped at the red dot.

We started at the Duck Brook Bridge, which is only about a mile from our house. But, since the Park Loop Road is closed for the season (which is the entrance we usually use coming from our house), we drove in from the opposite direction. Even though it's not blocked off, I don't know if they clear the snow from the road... luckily, it didn't matter today.

Jeremy runs around Witch Hole Pond quite often, so he knew the perfect spot for a family pic.

These first two walks, Carver has been cold and tired almost from the start. We definitely need to get an earlier start next time ... though, I imagine that if we get any sort of serious snow this winter, we'll save our carriage road adventures for spring and summer.
